ZTE announced that the company has entered into a strategic partnership with U Mobile for wireless network deployment in Malaysia, according to a March 18, 2011 press release by ZTE. As per the agreement, the deployment project is divided into two phases. It is reported that the first phase will emphasize on the expansion of U Mobile's 42 Mbps mobile network to central, western and northern parts of Malaysia by the second half of 2011. The second phase is projected to install LTE (Long Term Evolution) platforms if U Mobile is granted 4G spectrum by MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission).
